You May Be The Victim Of Snooping
We live our lives with an expectation of
certain privacy of our identities and personal information.
Electronic advancements and tiny
microcircuits provide convenience and entertainment never dreamed of
by our forefathers. But there is a price to pay for this
convenience.
Recording Devices
When recording devices were introduced to
the public, such as audio recorders and video cameras, there was an
invasion of our privacy. Today, we rarely go into a public
place without noticing video surveillance cameras.
Cell Phones Monitored
When cellular phones were introduced,
we accepted them with open arms hoping that the benefits out-weighed
the loss of our privacy. Yes, carrying a cell phone allows your
movements and location to be monitored when the phone power is on.
Radio Frequency
Identification (RFID)
Wait…the story gets worse. With the
introduction of RFID (radio frequency identification), a tiny
microchip can store information about you, including your social
security number, driver's license number and bank information to
identify just some of the information that could be stored on your
credit cards or other identification cards.
These RFID chips are
starting to appear in our everyday life and in some cases, you are
not even aware of it. For example, some gasoline companies have a
"fuel card" that allow you to pay for your gas purchase by waving
the card near the reader on the pump. Most likely the chip that is
embedded in the gas card contains only your unique account number
associated with that fuel company. Or does it? These microchips have
the ability to store all kinds of information about you, including
the information listed above.
RFID Chips Can Be
Tracked
RFID chips will soon be on consumer items
that you buy from a grocery or retail store. These chips may merely
contain product information like the UPC bar codes they will be
replacing, but the chips can be tracked with a scanning device
(reader) all the way up to your doorstep and possibly in your pantry
or nightstand.
WHERE DOES IT END?
One of the first steps to
be taken by you is to protect the plastic cards in your wallet from
being "snooped." Since this new technology uses radio waves to
interrogate (read) your card, an effective deflection device will
provide adequate protection from unwanted snooping. It is a basic
wallet with anti-RFID inserts that deflect (stop) radio waves. Simply place your cards, with or without microchips, into your new
secure wallet.
Protect Your Wallet From Snooping
RFID information cannot be retrieved from the PATENTED circuitry and deflection
material (available only from WalletGard) allowing virtually NO snooping of any
personal information unless removed from the wallet.
